About S-T-O-P
S-T-O-P is made from the same peppers as pepper spray but it's dry, non-pressurized, non-metallic and packaged as food (because it is!).
S-T-O-P has successfully passed through airport security and metal detectors at concerts, sporting events, government buildings and countries that forbid self-defense devices.
It is ideal for those with active lifestyles, university students, travelers and Study Abroad.
It creates a cloud of stinging pepper between you and an attacker.
Carry S-T-O-P to keep you and your loved ones safe everywhere.
Self-defense Device Comparison
The purpose of this section is not to disparage other devices. In fact, some can be paired well with S-T-O-P. For example, use S-T-O-P to halt the attack and the App or Alarm to call for help.
Firearms
The most restricted self-defense device available.
Legal complications if used too early in a confrontation.
Too many stories of carriers accidentally shooting themselves.
Can be bloody, which is hard to get out of your favorite sweater.

Pepper Spray
Cannot be taken everywhere. For example, concerts, sporting events, commercial flights, US Federal buildings and monuments, many countries, some university campuses.
It is liquid, pressurized and metallic – 3 attributes that airport security doesn’t allow.

Tasers
Cannot be taken everywhere. For example, concerts, sporting events, commercial flights, US Federal buildings and monuments, many countries.
Close proximity to the attacker required.

Knives
Cannot be taken everywhere. For example, concerts, sporting events, commercial flights, US Federal buildings and monuments, many countries.
Legal complications if used too early in a confrontation.
Close proximity to the attacker required.
Creates icky blood. Ew!

Phone Apps
Most attacks are over in less than 10 seconds. Apps are effective for telling the police where to find your body after the attack.

Alarms
Ineffective against those who are extremely agitated, mentally ill, or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Isn't it curious how often people hear a car alarm and ignore it?
Stealth Design
Stealth is a key component in modern national defense, where the question is not size of the device, but its ability to successfully arrive at the target. S-T-O-P implements this strategy for personal self-defense.
By leaving the pepper in its natural state and packaging it as food – with the legally required nutrition facts – S-T-O-P passes security.
There’s only one basic principle of self-defense - you must apply the most effective weapon, as soon as possible, to the most vulnerable target.

Frequently Asked Questions - FAQs
H
How does S-T-O-P work?
S-T-O-P is made of peppers high in Capsaicin, the active component from chili peppers, which are plants belonging to the genus Capsicum. It’s the same active ingredient in most pepper spray. Capsaicin is an inflammatory agent that, unlike tear gas, is effective on those extremely agitated, mentally ill, or under the influence of drugs or alcohol. It activates a protein in people’s cells called TRPV1. This protein’s job is to sense heat and alert the brain. The brain then responds by sending a jolt of pain back to the affected part of the body.
When the Capsaicin contacts the mucous membranes (eyes, nose, throat, and lungs), symptoms will appear instantly. The capillaries of the eyes will immediately dilate, causing temporary blindness. Inflammation of the breathing tube tissues will cause difficulty in breathing; however, the target will still be able to breathe.
Taken internally, S-T-O-P provides 25% of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Recommended Daily Allowance for Vitamin A.
Used externally, S-T-O-P delivers the Capsaicin necessary to help an attacker understand that it’s time to leave you alone.

What makes S-T-O-P different from pepper spray?
Pepper spray is made by extracting the oil called Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) from peppers high in Capsaicin, diluting it with oil, placing it in a metal container and adding pressure. It is forbidden so many places, an alternative like S-T-O-P is a wise choice.
What is the heat rating of S-T-O-P relative to pepper spray?
There are a number of ways to measure the strength of pepper spray. One way is called Scoville Heat Units (SHU). Most pepper sprays are between 500,000 and 2,000,000 SHU. S-T-O-P has a value of 800,000 SHU. If there is a question about strength, lightly dip your baby finger in cayenne pepper (60,000 – 130,000 SHU) and gently touch the corner of one eye. After your test, if you visit the restroom, please keep your hands off of your, um, “private parts.”

Is there any lasting damage from the use of S-T-O-P?
Unlike firearms, knives or other harmful weapons, S-T-O-P, like pepper spray, wears off in 20-30 minutes.

What should I do after throwing S-T-O-P at an attacker?
The decision to kick the hell out of the attacker before escaping or calling the police is entirely up to the user.
S-T-O-P assumes no responsibility for damage to the attacker for pissing off their desired victim.
